Walk down any high street at this time of year and you will always see a range of approaches to adding a touch of Christmas sparkle to shop displays. Whether it’s a second hand shop using a moth-balled santa suit, a supermarket’s tree of chocolates or a department store telling a full Christmas tale, everyone wants to use what they’ve got to get in the spirit. But of course, it’s the designer shops with their big budgets and conceptual creative teams that can really go to town. Here’s a look at some of our favourite Designers doing Christmas this year.
The fashion designer has used an elegant twist of inspiration from the elegant pink and green private members club ‘Harry’s Bar’ this Christmas. Shoppers will be greeted by a 6ft tall Christmas tree, as well as over 12,000 green, pink and gold baubles filling the ceiling and window. The entrance to the shop plays on the film title ‘When Harry Met Sally’.
This Boulevard Haussmann department store has some of the prettiest festive windows of the year. The fragrance bottles nestled in pink roses is a particular highlight.
High gloss miniature doors with gold vinyl trim hang in the windows of nine Aspinal of London stores this festive season. The doors are finished in Aspinal’s signature colours and feature Christmas wreaths and hand-sculpted lion knockers.
The Tory Burch 2018 Christmas windows takes inspiration from the Resort 19 watercolour print ‘Daydream’, which is a nod to the designer’s favourite book, ‘The Little Prince’ by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
The Holidays has arrived ay Coach. Lights outline picket fences. Tinsel hangs from the ceilings. And a group of animals awaits in quiet anticipation. Instantly they come to life in a jazz-age-to-modern-age soirée scene with an explosion of glitter, frivolity and rebellion. They dance, play instruments, chatter, decorate and wrap everyone’s gifts.
Dolce and Gabbana
Inspired by Sicilian puppet theatre, the displays showcase the puppets of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana as main protagonists, entertaining the crowds with different episodes.
